Canon and Lexmark see strong printer sales
Wednesday 31 January, 2007
Canon printer cartridges and
Lexmark printer cartridges will have been flying off the shelves if the recent news from the two companies is any guide.
Both Lexmark and Canon have said that printer sales were good for them last year, in the whole 12 months for Canon and the last three months of the year for Lexmark.
"We saw strong branded unit growth in the quarter in our targeted growth segments of low-end monochrome lasers, colour lasers, laser all-in-ones, and inkjet all-in-ones," said Paul J Curlander, Lexmark chairman and chief executive officer.
The
Lexmark laser printers, which use Lexmark laser toner cartridges, include the likes of the
Lexmark C510 and the
Lexmark C760.
As far as Canon was concerned, sales in 2006 were "driven by strong demand for our digital cameras, laser printers and colour copiers", the company said, with
Canon laser printer cartridges no doubt needed to fuel the new machines.
Two of the firm's newest laser printers are the i-SENSYS LBP3360 and the i-SENSYS LBP5300, both of which use the all-in-one Canon laser toner cartridge.
