Canon announces launch of new DSLR
Thursday 22 February, 2007
Japanese manufacturer Canon has today unveiled the launch of a new digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR), which may be of interest to users of
Canon printer cartridges.
Designed for the professional market, the new EOS-1D Mark III is expected to become available in May and features two imaging chips for faster processing times.
The new camera also features a resolution of 10.1 mega-pixels, which may be attractive to users of printers such as the
Canon Pixma MP600 or
Canon LaserShot LBP-5000.
"In the past, we refrained from making any changes to our professional models because our customers are so used to using them," said Tomonori Iwashita, head of Canon's camera division.
"But we made significant revisions to this model and aim to lift the [quality of] professional cameras to a new level.
In addition to digital cameras, Canon offers a number of products for use in digital imaging, including scanners and camcorders.
