Canon Pixma MP510 named top photo printer
Friday 24 November, 2006
The Canon Pixma MP510 has been named as the Best Buy for photo printers following a group test of printers by Computeractive.
A number of printers were put through their paces by the website, including the Canon Selphy CP720, the Epson Picturemate PM240 and the HP Photosmart D7160. But the Pixma MP510 proved to be the best in the eyes of the reviewers.
"Its tremendous photo-quality prints are the best of the bunch and Canon has squeezed in scanner and copier functions into the bargain," the website said.
Boasting "stunning prints", the bonus of infrared connectivity in addition to USB and PictBridge and a printing speed of up to one print per 47 seconds, the Canon Pixma MP510 cruised to a five star rating from the magazine.
For printing on the move, Computeractive suggests perhaps going for the Epson Picturemate PM240, however.
From the smaller printers, it offers the best quality pictures, while the website labels the other Canon tested, the Selphy CP720 as the "ultimate in portability".
Six different Selphy printers are available from Canon, while the Pixma range currently features more than 20 different models.
