Canon to launch new PowerShot camera

In news which may be of interest to users of
Canon printer cartridges and
Canon laser toner cartridges, Canon has announced the forthcoming launch of its new PowerShot S5 IS camera.
Canon's new offering is to be priced at £409 and incorporates a number of features, including a 12x optical zoom facility and a resolution of eight mega-pixels.
"Images communicate. They can be quick and simple to understand, or more subtle, complex and ambiguous," said Canon.
"At either extreme, they form the only language to cross all world boundaries," the company added.
The camera also offers the company's Face Detection Technology, in addition to increased ISO sensitivity and is to become available in June.
Canon's new PowerShot also comes equipped with the company's DIGIC III processor, which may interest users of printers such as the
Canon iP4200 and the
Canon iP6700D.
