Canon wins award for printer
Tuesday 15 August, 2006
Canon has won the European Photo Printer of the Year 2006-07 award for its PIXMA iP6600D.
The award is part of the annual ceremony by the European Imaging & Sound Association (Eisa), which recognises prominent photo, video, audio, home theatre and mobile electronics achievements.
The PIXMA iP6600D, originally launched in 2005, was applauded by judges for a number of reasons, including its usability by both professionals and amateurs.
"The PIXMA iP6600D is a high-speed photo printer with excellent quality for a good price," Eisa judges remarked.
"The ink droplets are one picolitre small, allowing good printing accuracy and a high resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. This makes [it] a good choice for both enthusiasts and semi-professional photographers."
CD-R printing capabilities and the printer's second paperfeed were also complimented by the judges, who also awarded Canon European Professional Camera of the Year 2006-07 for its EOS 5D.
With such a successful duo on its hands, consumers could be encouraged to snap both up, load the print cartridges and get printing their own album of snaps.
