Cartridge recycling to help charities
Monday 15 January, 2007
Printer cartridge users in the Carlisle area are getting the chance to help the environment and a charity, thanks to a new fundraiser.
By recycling printer cartridges, whether that is taking them to a recycling centre or getting a printer cartridge refill, consumers can reduce their impact on the environment in a time when this is at the forefront of national thinking.
The Scope Recycling Appeal in Carlisle is offering members of the public the chance to recycle used or unwanted printer cartridges and mobile phones, according to the News & Star.
The appeal has been running across the country since June 2005, with any proceeds raised going to help people who suffer with cerebral palsy.
Old phones, PDAs and printer cartridges or toner can be taken to the Scope shop in Carlisle, or a form is available online for consumers to fill in detailing how many of each item they have for recycling. Scope will then "do the rest".
