Dell takes further recycling steps
Wednesday 10 January, 2007
Dell has taken further strides in its efforts to make recycling of its products easier for customers across the world, with the announcement that it has extended its network into further countries.
Brazil, China, India, South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan have all recently been added to Dell's network, which has counted Europe among its number since 2003.
The UK is one such country where Dell has operated a no-charge consumer recycling programme for a number of years, welcoming any used Dell-branded product, such as a Dell printer.
"With today's announcement, our efforts to make recycling free and easy are global," said Eric Gates, Dell's worldwide manager of asset recovery services.
"We remain focused on raising consumer awareness about the importance of recycling and increasing the volume of products we recover from consumers."
The company offers a freepost service for printer cartridge recycling in the UK and a host of other countries when a new cartridge is bought from Dell.
