Epson releases two new printers
Tuesday 05 September, 2006
Epson has released two new portable printers in its PictureMate range, expanding the inkjet PictureMate range of photo printers to five.
Website Pocket-lint reports that the two new printers the PM240 and the PM 280 are almost identical in terms of features offered, with the only notable difference being that the PM 280 has a CD drive for printing directly from a CD.
The two printers both bring with them a new appearance for the PictureMate range, one referred to as "contemporary and iconic" by Epson.
Memory cards or Epson's PictBridge technology can be used to make printing digital pictures fast and efficient. Speeds of a print every 42 seconds are achievable on the new printers.
A 2.5-inch colour screen means editing of things such as red eye can be carried out easily and done directly from the memory card, so there's nothing to stop the home digital photo enthusiast from stocking up on the Epson printer cartridges and starting printing.
