HP garage and house gets listing on historic places register

In news which may be of interest to users of
HP printer cartridges and
HP laser toner cartridges, the founding building and house of HP has been placed on the US National Register of Historic Places.
Added to the list by the National Park Service, the property - based in California - is the location initially used by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard in 1938.
"The HP garage has become a symbol of what can rise from humble beginnings with hard work and determination," said Gary Elliot, vice president of brand management and design at HP.
"It's an honour to be recognised by the National Park Service and we hope it will further spread these core HP values to a national audience," he added.
Indeed, in 2005 HP finished a comprehensive renovation of the entire site.
Hewlett Packard was created in 1939, with their first successful product - in monetary terms - being an audio oscillator, which may be of interest to users of
HP office paper and
HP A4 superior laser paper.
