Tuesday 24 April, 2007
Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced that it is to revamp its inkjet cartridge offering from this summer in a move that is set to give consumers more choice.
Printer owners look set to benefit from the option to pick a more customised
HP printer cartridge, as HP will offer two different sizes for each model of printer, vnunet.com reports.
Current cartridges will be replaced by two new sizes: a smaller, standard one and a larger one known as the XL model.
The two
HP printer cartridges can be used interchangeably, according to vnunet.com, but with the XL, printer owners could make savings of between 30 and 45 per cent on a cost per page basis.
Speaking to the website, HP senior vice president of supplies Pradeep Jotwani explained that the "revamping" of the provider's inkjet cartridges offering means that customers can enjoy "more choice, much greater value" and a simplified shopping experience.
Meanwhile, commenting on the changing market of large format ink in the printer world, the director of HP supplies large format said it is a "rapidly expanding" sector.
He told the Digital Output website that "printer manufacturers are broadening their offerings to support the diverse and unique printing demands of their customers".
