Kodak's new scanner

Kodak has announced the launch of a new production scanner, capable of scanning up to 200 pages per minute.
The Kodak i1860 Scanner features a host of features to make scanning easier and more efficient, including automatic height adjustment to allow the scanner operator to sit or stand.
A touch screen panel also makes the i1860 user-friendly, which along with the comfort and ease of operation offered by the height adjustment feature, should improve productivity.
"We've taken all of Kodak's imaging and scanner know-how and incorporated it into the new product along with increasing the scanner speed and enhancing the ergonomic design," said Richard Broden, product marketing manager, document imaging, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, according to IT Backbones.
"The result is a scanner with superior image quality, throughput, and functionality that enables greater ease of use and the flexibility to efficiently meet the challenges of any size workload."
The scanner also features Kodak's Perfect Page imaging technology, allowing "superior image quality", according to the company.
Kodak's i1860 will be released in December, with the company continuing its focus on digital markets that was signalled when it ceased making cameras compatible with Advanced Photo System film and 35mm film in 2004.
