Lexmark reveals workplace printer neglect
Tuesday 24 October, 2006
Lexmark has said that its latest range of home office 4 in 1 machines are perfect for today's workers' printer needs, with a fifth of professionals saying they work better at home than in the office.
The latest research from the company has revealed that there are a host of workplace distractions for professionals, with less printing and more tea-making seemingly the order of the day in many office buildings.
More than half (53 per cent) of those quizzed said that they spent more time making refreshments than doing business in the office. This was closely followed by the 51 per cent who cited the internet as a distraction.
"To offer effective printing solutions for our customers it's important to understand their working habits and needs," said Matthew Yarrow, director, consumer printer division, Lexmark UK.
"We are committed to providing the very best technology to help today and tomorrow's professionals to increase productivity and get the most out of their working day."
Emailing friends was a distraction for 30 per cent, suggesting people are on their computers but not doing their work or using their printers and ink cartridges for work.
