Mac users opt for inkjet
Wednesday 22 November, 2006
More than six out of ten (62 per cent) Mac users choose an inkjet printer for their printing requirements, according to research by Konica Minolta.
The printing solutions company carried out a survey of 100 Mac users at the MacExpo 2006 exhibition, where it was revealed that only one per cent of Mac users said that cost of printer ink was an issue for them.
"This survey offered us some great insight into the Mac user community, which is an important part of our market," said Mark Lloyd, managing director UK & Ireland, Konica Minolta Printing Solutions.
"I was surprised to hear how many Mac users rely on inkjets, seeing as it costs many times more to print a colour document using an inkjet than it does with a colour laser printer."
Just two per cent of those surveyed said they experienced problems with paper jams, seemingly offering a glowing endorsement of using an inkjet printer with an Apple Mac computer.
More than two thirds (67 per cent) of those quizzed said they used Macs at both the office and at home.
HP, Canon and Epson models are among the most popular printers bought by Apple Mac users, according to the Apple Store website.
