OKI makes 'bold move' on MFP market
Monday 18 September, 2006
OKI has launched two multifunction printers (MFPs) onto the market, hoping to crack the low-priced mono MFP sector.
According to website channelinfo.net, the company is making a "bold move" by releasing the B2500 and B4500 MFP mono systems, which will be the company's most price-competitive models in the sector.
Offering printing and copying speeds of 16 pages per minute, the B2500 also allows scanning in colour to "add vibrancy to soft copies". There is also a wireless printing option and OKI has said that its size and shape are ideal for the small or home office.
Prices are expected to start at £149 for the new MFPs and according to the channelinfo.net website the printers signify "OKI's drive to become a primary supplier in this market".
OKI currently offers four more MFPs for the UK market the B2520, B2540, B4525 and the B4545, all of which are mono printers.
