Panasonic named copier number one
Monday 04 December, 2006
Panasonic copiers have been recognised as among the best in the industry following a survey of corporate decision makers.
The JD Power and Associates 2006 Business Copier Customer Satisfaction Study ranked Panasonic Digital Document Company as number one for both the product and sales categories.
"As a core manufacturer, Panasonic has 100 per cent engineering, fabrication, and quality control over far more of the components in its products than most companies, which gives us a tremendous reliability advantage at the factory level," said Steve Mullin, president of Panasonic Digital Document Company.
Mr Mullin mentioned that Panasonic has added a number of features to its copiers to make them less dependent on "the availability of other resources" and improve how efficiently they operate, including a remote diagnostic service, IP integrated applications and computer-free functions.
The survey noted that one of the main rising factors of importance for copier users is durability, with the increase in the number of people citing this as an influence on their purchase decision rising from 26 per cent in 2005 to 50 per cent this time around.
Panasonic also says it has a customer satisfaction initiative in place called Extreme Customer Satisfaction (XCS), which aims to exceed customer expectations.
In the UK, Panasonic offers a dozen multifunction devices for the office, many of which have a copier function.
