Solution for printing emergencies
Wednesday 19 July, 2006
A clever new piece of software is allowing people to connect to printers all over the world from wherever they are.
PrinterAnywhere allows people to share printer resources for free via an internet connection. This means that if you need to print while waiting for that new printer cartridge or toner to come through the letter box, you can.
The system is particularly useful in situations where email cannot be used or even where multiple people in the same household want to share a printer but find the networking system too difficult to connect, according to the software's developers.
Printers are added by people to the PrinterAnywhere network, meaning the more people that use the service, the more printing locations users have.
While it is no replacement for the convenience of your own printer, whether it be an inkjet printer or laser printer, it could help people out of a tight spot or printing emergency.
