Verified ink keeps printers working
Thursday 17 August, 2006
The need for consumers to purchase printer ink and printer cartridges from a trusted and reliable source has been emphasised by a printing technology company.
While printer ink refills can be an important way of saving money and protecting the environment, it is important to buy such products from a reputable supplier, otherwise such money-saving ideas could actually cost more.
This is particularly important in business, Kate O'Mahony from Linx Printing Technologies said, as instances she has seen where unverified ink has been used did not pay off in the end.
"The companies had to pay for the parts and service required to repair the printers in addition to the financial loss incurred through lost production time," Ms O'Mahony said.
"It is therefore vital that any ink and solvent is suitable for and has been tested in the machine in which it is being used."
With home printing of digital photos meaning a great burden is placed on the use of ink, however, this could also have ramifications for the home user looking for printer cartridge refills.
