Monkey goes missing
Friday 27 April, 2007
Brooklyn-based band, The Violets, have lost the frontman of their show The Violet Hour, Mr Monkey.
Their star hand-puppet was lost on the Q Broadway Express train in New York during a shoot, leaving the members of the band feeling "horrible", reports The Brooklyn Paper.
The band are so keen to be reunited with their furry friend that they have posted a $500 (£250) reward for his safe return and have stressed that they will be able to detect any impostors.
"You don't lose the host. Would Spielberg lose Tom Cruise in the middle of a shoot?," said Alexander Nixon, the frontman for the band.
"We were in the middle of a shoot on the subway. There were lots of props, lighting, too many things going on," he added.
The band's influences include Depeche Mode, The Cars and David Bowie.
