Monkey mag to swing into inboxes
Friday 13 October, 2006
There's a new lads mag on the block, going by the oh-so-catchy name of Monkey.
The new Monkey magazine will be an online publication, delivered to registered Monkey (the magazine, not the primate) enthusiasts once a week. Offering "sex, fun, music, sport, gear and cars", it is released by the company behind popular magazine Maxim.
"Monkey will be a cheeky, sexy mix of girls, sport, cars and humour with around 50 pages of content making it ideal for consumption at home or in the workplace," said James Carter, director of publisher Dennis NPD, according to Press Gazette.
"We'll have the best viral videos, the latest music videos and movie trailers, games which you can actually play, sexy girl shoots – all the things which you get flat and static in traditional magazine brought to life on a platform men are using more and more as their primary source of entertainment and information.
The first issue, aimed at 16 to 30-year-old males, will be landing in inboxes across the land on November 1st, which, perhaps unfortunately for demanding bosses, is a Wednesday, not a Friday.
While there is a varied list of content that is set to feature on the pages of Monkey, it is currently unknown whether there will be monkey-related work in the magazine that can be viewed online or saved as a PDF.
