Newlyweds bananas for each other
Friday 01 September, 2006
A newly married couple has brought new meaning to the phrase "monkeying around" by using a monkey suit as part of their wedding day.
Joanne Pollard, 37, made a monkey out of her new husband Colin by making them dress in the same clothes they were wearing on the night they met. This involved a 1920s Charleston dress for Joanne and a gorilla suit for Colin.
"I came out with the dress which he said he recognised, but couldn't remember why, until I pulled out the gorilla suit for him," Joanne said, according to the Metro newspaper.
"I checked with the registrar to make sure we could wear the outfits, but Colin had to take his head off when we made our vows."
The couple, from Cornwall, wore the costumes throughout the ceremony and the signing of the wedding register, but changed into something a little more conventional for their wedding photographs.
