Taiwanese ape 'goes bananas'

An ape at a park in Taiwan recently escaped from its enclosure, it has emerged.
After escaping from its cage by chewing, the 19-year-old orangutan went bananas through the entertainment park over a period of three hours, before being subdued, reports Reuters.
However, despite it being necessary to subdue the orangutan with the use of a stun gun, the ape was not hurt during the incident at Santao Mountain Entertainment Area.
"She just turned everything upside down," said Hsu, an employee at the park commenting on the incident, which saw the orangutan knock over rubbish bins, scooters and iceboxes.
In related news, a woman in Rotterdam was recently attacked by an 11-year-old gorilla, who inflicted a number of injuries, including bites and a broken wrist.
"He is and remains my darling," said the woman about the gorilla, to the Dutch newspaper Telegraaf.
