Canon acquires stake in German solutions company
Monday 04 September, 2006
Canon Europe has acquired a 35 per cent stake in the German solutions provider NT-Ware.
The acquisition by Canon should improve the company's influence in the business solutions market, allowing it to utilise NT-Ware's innovative technology in a greater way than it has previously done, despite being a Canon business partner since 1999.
"We look forward to working in partnership with the team at NT-Ware to develop solutions that add real value to our customers and further differentiate Canon from its competitors," said Hajime Tsuruoka, president and chief executive officer of Canon Europe.
Canon already sells the unitFLOW Output Manager across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which allows tailored solutions across a number of areas, including printing, accounting and workflow management.
The deal will see Canon own 70 per cent of NT-Ware after two years, something that NT-Ware has said will result in "unrivalled print and document management solutions for Canon's customers".
