Canon appointment to boost web experience
Thursday 09 November, 2006
Canon Europe has appointed a new online communications manager to re-design its website in order to focus more on customer needs.
The hardware manufacturer, which provides a range of print and copy solutions for both the home and the office, claims that the appointment will "excite visitors and help them discover the creative and productivity possibilities of its consumer and business products and solutions".
The man for the job is Eduardo Beltrao, a former consultant to the Banner Corporation who also led the development of the HP consumer website.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Beltrao said: "The Canon Europe website acts as both a shop window for customers and a primary source of information for all of Canon's stakeholders."
"I look forward to overseeing the redevelopment of the website into a user-friendly world-class resource that accurately reflects Canon's global leadership position in imaging technology," he added.
Last month Canon announced the launch of a new promotion, aimed primarily at its customers in the CAD industry, which will allow them to receive a rebate of up to £800 if they exchange their existing large format printers for new models.
