Fujufilm announces entrance into printer market
Tuesday 10 April, 2007
In news which may be of interest to users of
Canon laser toner cartridges and
Canon printer cartridges, Fujifilm Holdings has announced its intention to enter the industrial inkjet printer market.
In an effort to offset declining revenues caused by the weakening market for photographic film, Fujifilm has announced its new range of printers will be available in the US over the course of this month, reports Reuters.
"A wide variety of customers … employ inkjet printers compatible with UV and solvent inks," said Fujifilm.
"The market for the digitalisation of printing processes has dramatically expanded in recent years due to small lot production, short-term delivery and increasing graphic design," it added.
Although the timetable for a market expansion into Japan and Europe has not yet been formally announced, the company has confirmed it expects to achieve annual sales revenue of 20 billion yen (£85 million) by 2009-10.
Fujifilm manufactures a number of products which may be of interest to users of
Epson printer cartridges and
Lexmark printer cartridges, including inkjet paper and memory cards.
