Konica Minolta launches new multifunctional product
Thursday 16 November, 2006
Konica Minolta has announced the launch of the four-in-one magicolor 2490MF printer, which joins the company's laser multifunctional range.
The four main functions – printing, copying, scanning and faxing – are all covered, while print quality benefits from 2400 x 600 dpi resolution, polymerised toner and enhanced automatic image density control capability.
Able to uptake a range of media types including standard paper, glossy and thick stock, postcards and labels, the printer has a standard input tray of 200 sheets which can be supplemented with an optional tray to hold 500 sheets.
The new generation magicolor also includes PictBridge, which enables users to print images directly from digital cameras without intermediate computer download.
The PictBridge function is "invaluable to many SMEs requiring fast and high quality photo prints in their daily business", said marketing director Oscar Rook.
The fast scanner, which processes an A4 original in 9.4 seconds in mono, also allows users to scan documents and photos and email them to recipients immediately without using a PC.
Konica Minolta is currently developing a 'bizhub' which will take fused technology to a new level, adding printer, scanner, fax and copier to a DVD player and integral coffee machine.
