Lexmark announces support for FBI fingerprint software
Friday 16 March, 2007
Lexmark has announced its decision to support Mentalix's CardPrint Application Interface Toolkit, which may be of interest to users of
Lexmark printer cartridges and
Lexmark laser printers.
Mentalix's software application is FBI-certified and allows users to print FBI-certified data such as fingerprints, photographs and demographic data straight onto card, reports eWeek Channel Insider.
"Printing mugshots directly onto the fingerprint cards means less paperwork and greater efficiency," said Brian Gross, president and chief executive of Mentalix to eWeek.
Support for the software platform will allow law enforcement officers to discontinue the practice of attaching separate photographs to documents, the organisation claims.
Lexmark offers printing solutions for home users, in addition to small and medium-sized enterprises and large organisations, which may be of interest to users of
HP office paper and
Canon printer cartridges.
