Lexmark rumour hints at withdrawal from photographic printer market

In news which may be of interest to users of
Lexmark printer cartridges and
Lexmark laser printers, the company has remained elusive about a rumour regarding the withdrawal from manufacturing dedicated photographic printers.
According to Amateur Photographer, speculation has arisen following a remark suggested that the company was shifting its emphasis towards the production and development of multi-function or all-in-one printers.
"All of Lexmark's products are designed with productivity in mind and photo functionality is very important to our customers," said Lisa Canning, European public relations manager for Lexmark.
"That's why almost our entire product line has photo features," she added.
In making these comments, Ms Canning sought to confirm that the company would not be exiting from the photography market.
Lexmark manufactures products for a range of markets, including small business and home users, which may be of interest to users of
Canon laser toner cartridges and
Epson photo printer .
