Ricoh Aficio GX 3000 under review
Friday 18 May, 2007
In news which may interest users of
Epson printer cartridges and
Lexmark printer cartridges, Ricoh's new gel printer scored four out of six in a recent review.
According to PC Pro, the GX 3000 features a print resolution of 1,200dpi, in addition to a 250-sheet input tray and a duplex printer mode.
However, although running costs were noted as being lower when compared with an inkjet printer, the machine was identified as possessing its share of problems.
"Even at its best, it isn't as good as an office laser in terms of quality and its colour output is even worse," said PC Pro.
"It's very similar to inkjets we saw several years ago, and we can only hope this technology undergoes the same rapid improvement," it added.
Running costs per print were noted as being 11p for colour output, while mono output could be achieved at 1.7p per print.
Ricoh offers a number of products, including fax machines and scanners, which may be of interest to users of
Lexmark laser printers and
HP A4 photo gloss laser paper.
