Canon discusses Small Steps programme
Thursday 14 September, 2006
Canon has launched a new programme designed to encourage firms to improve their printing habits.
Named the "Small Steps" scheme, it is intended to help firms improve their efficiency, productivity and finances.
Among the recommendations is the idea of 'diet', which encourages firms to ensure that black and white is the default setting on all printers, in an attempt to avoid the unnecessary use of colour.
A further proposal urges companies to use the printers to their utmost capabilities so that print jobs always look immaculate.
The plan also reminds users that Canon offers significant back-up support and solutions should things go wrong.
In addition, opting for double sided printing, reducing paper use generally and reducing power consumption by printing at high speeds are among the steps put forward in the document with the environment in mind.
David Smith, marketing director for Canon Business Solutions at Canon UK, commented: "The purpose of Small Steps is to help businesses streamline their print operation by using the most effective printers for each individual job requirement as well as a range of software solutions and consultancy."
Canon has also recently launched a range of environmentally friendly printers.
