Canon printers fire Q1
Tuesday 24 April, 2007
Demand for laser printers, which make use of
Canon laser toner cartridges, have helped fuel a 22 per cent rise in Canon's profit for the first quarter of 2007.
The company, which offers a range of printers that use
Canon printer cartridges, has expanded sales of colour office copiers as well as laser printer engines that it supplies to Hewlett-Packard, according to Reuters.
Canon said that sales of inkjet printers climbed by 12.2 per cent during the period, which should mean more people across the globe using
Canon printer cartridges to get their documents and pictures on paper.
Looking to the future, Canon said: "As for network digital MFDs [multifunctional devices] and laser beam printers, while additional demand is projected for full-colour models, severe price competition and shifting demand toward lower-priced models are expected to continue."
Canon is also one of the world's foremost camera manufacturers, in addition to the camcorders, printers, scanners and fax machines that it produces for a global market.
