Disa uses HP
Tuesday 10 July, 2007
The Defense Information Systems Agency (Disa) is using HP software to optimise service-oriented architecture (SOA) interoperability, it has emerged.
Disa is also using the makers of
HP printer cartridges,
HP laser toner cartridges and
HP laserjet papers to certify services across the UD Department of Defense (DoD).
Using the HP Systinet SOA governance could help the organisation create a system of record that will manage services throughout its lifecycle.
"We have completed a successful pilot of NCES, our certification program, using Systinet 2," said Robert Vietmeyer, chief technologist at Net-Centric Enterprise Services, Disa.
"Systinet 2 provides the visibility, trust and control required to govern a shared services environment like NCES. This environment will enable [the] DoD to share better quality information more quickly."
As a result, the capabilities of the armed forces will be strengthened, he added.
HP was recently named in information technology research group Gartner's list of leaders.
