Epson 'to launch new range of Linux PC's'

In news which may be of interest to users of
Epson photo printers and
Epson printer cartridges, Epson is to start manufacturing a number of Linux-based computers, it has emerged.
According to Slash Gear, the manufacturer of printers such as the
Epson Stylus Photo R1800 - among other products - is to offer a desktop and notebook option, featuring installations of Turbo Linux.
"Epson is a progressive company, trusted throughout the world because of our commitment to customer satisfaction, environmental conservation, individuality and teamwork," said Epson.
"We are confident of our collective skills and meet challenges with innovative and creative solutions," the company added.
Although full specifications about the machines are so far unknown, the Endeavor LX7800 desktop will feature processors from Intel and the Endeavor LX1000 notebook will ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card, which may interest users of
Lexmark printer cartridges and
Lexmark laser printers.
