HP and Microsoft announce extension of collaboration

In news which may be of interest to users of
HP printer cartridges and
HP laser toner cartridges, HP and Microsoft have agreed to extend a sales and marketing arrangement in the area of supercomputers.
Implemented as part of a desire to increase overall sales, the enhanced Microsoft/HP pact has been put into practice as one element of a strategy to improve the mass market exposure of high performance machines, reports ZDNet.
"End users are looking for easy-to-use systems and will likely go with vendors that can provide an easy transition from their desktop to [high-performance computing] servers," said Earl Joseph, an analyst with IDC.
"[Customers can] realistically expect to have a 64-node cluster deployed and running within two hours," added HP in a statement.
As part of the programme of enhanced collaboration a number of tasks will be implemented, including work on the Windows Compute Cluster Server to improve the overall ease of deployment, which may interest users of
HP A4 photo gloss laser paper and
HP A4 superior laser paper.
Microsoft was established in 1975.
