Thursday 18 January, 2007
Konica Minolta has introduced a binder unit to one of its bizhub PRO models, which will make binding booklets quicker and more cost-effective for businesses, as well as give birth to the bizhub PRO 1050e.
The PB-501 perfect binder unit allows A4 booklets with covers to be produced at a rate of 6,300 impressions per hour, utilising hotmelt gluing technology to achieve this rapidity. The bizhub PRO 1050e is capable of printing 105 A4 prints per minute.
"As the enhanced version of our ground breaking bizhub PRO 1050, the new bizhub PRO 1050e is available in five new configurations," said Jos Kelly, head of production print for Konica Minolta.
"These include the PB-501 perfect binder unit which offers high speed on-line book production."
Mr Kelly also said that the new bizhub with binder unit represents a "great opportunity" for those that use such a system to boost production.
Konica Minolta also offers the bizhub PRO 500 and the bizhub PRO 6500e as colour production printing options, while the bizhub PRO 1050 and the bizhub PRO 920 are monochrome systems.
