Konica Minolta launches newest bizhub
Thursday 08 February, 2007
Konica Minolta has announced the launch of the bizhub PRO C6500, aimed at the central reprographic sector.
The new printer could challenge the HP Indigo press 1050, which uses
HP printer ink to create excellent prints for the graphic arts industry. Speed, quality, and versatility are high requirements of the industry, according to Konica Minolta, which says that the new bizhub matches these requirements.
"Demand for the bizhub PRO 6500e has been high since its recent launch, but we are aware that some customers want its speed, quality and reliability, but don't require the full paper supply and extensive finishing options," said Jos Kelly, head of production print.
"The bizhub PRO C6500 allows us to meet that demand with its smaller footprint and a more economic price tag, without any reduction in system performance."
The Canon imagePRESS C1 - which uses
Canon toner - could also prove a rival to the colour printing capabilities of the bizhub PRO C6500, while Canon's imagePRESS C7000VP is the next step-up in size, again using
Canon toner to good effect.
Konica Minolta's bizhub PRO C6500 offers a print speed of 65 A4 pagers per minute, whether in colour or black and white.
