Ricoh takes market top spot
Thursday 21 September, 2006
Ricoh, the print and document management solutions company, has announced that it has the largest market share for mono and colour-capable multifunction printers (MFPs).
The figures from research house Infosource cover the UK and Irish market for the first half of 2006, with Ricoh recording a 26.5 per cent market share for mono MFPs and a 35 per cent market share for colour-capable MFPs.
In a move that it hopes will strengthen its grip on the UK and Irish MFP market further, Ricoh is also releasing two new MFP models.
The MP C3500 and MP C4500 offer printing speeds of 35 pages per minute (ppm) and 40/45ppm respectively. Both offer scan, print and copy functions.
"Ricoh's strength lies in the breadth of its range. The launch of the new devices means that we can offer a colour-capable solution to meet the requirements of businesses across the board, from small workgroups up to large departments," said Chas Moloney, associate director of marketing with Ricoh UK.
"We hope that this, coupled with the range of software and finishing options we can also supply, will help to further consolidate our position as the market leader."
