Samsung is looking to get a foothold in the business printer and IT market and is ready to challenge the big names, according to reports.
The company has pointed to recent strides made among its printer products as evidence that it is ready to become a bigger player on the printer scene.
"A couple of years ago our printer range was focused on the SoHo market at 20 pages per minute [ppm] and sold through retail," said David Steel, vice president of Samsung's digital media business, according to website The Register.
"Now Samsung has 45ppm, we have the world's smallest colour laser, we have colour laser multifunction printers."
The CLP-300 is the aforementioned "world's smallest colour laser", with dimensions of 15.4" width x 13.5" depth x 10.4" height. The tiny printer was launched in October.
Delivering 17ppm in black and white and 4ppm in colour, the printer is seen as a space-saving mechanism for the world's desktops.
