Smart printer cartridge use could save money
Tuesday 30 January, 2007
Improved printing efficiency by businesses and the public sector could stop them wasting as much as £1 billion each year, according to the latest research from OKI and the Centre for Economic and Business Research.
Businesses have been urged to use mono printer cartridges, whether they be
Canon laser toner cartridges or
Lexmark laser toner cartridges for example, when printing black and white documents rather than using colour printer cartridges for the task.
Public administration and education were found to be the areas that wasted most money through inefficient printing, something that could be reduced by better use of
HP laser toner cartridges and
Epson laser toner cartridges.
"Getting the basics right is key; ensuring printers are correctly set up to minimise time and paper wastage, using mono for black and white documents, and using duplex for printing on both sides," said Chris Gill, managing director of OKI printing solutions, according to Education Executive.
Printer cartridge refills could also save businesses money and are a way of helping to protect the environment at the same time.
