Xerox project highlights digital printing power

Xerox has completed a printing assignment that it says demonstrates the "power" of digital printing.
The company, along with XMPie, was challenged to print the cover for the December issue of the industry magazine Graphic Arts Monthly. Full of colour, the high-impact cover is distributed to a wide base of more than 70,000 subscribers.
"A project like this puts the power of personalised digital printing on full display for the graphic communications community," said Quincy Allen, president, Xerox Production Systems Group.
"Demonstrating that digital printing and personalised content are viable options for a high-volume print job like this will open doors for print providers – they're able to show digital is the answer for more than just short runs."
By teaming up with recently-acquired XMPie, Xerox used the iGen3 110 Digital Production Press and XMPie uImage and PersonalEffect software to create a colourful cover splash.
Xerox was recently recognised at the Campaign magazine media awards for its strong It Makes Business Sense campaign, which was named the best of the year.
