Xerox to preview speed future at Graph Expo
Tuesday 17 October, 2006
Xerox will use the Graph Expo 2006 show in the American city of Chicago to show the future of Xerox design and the direction that the company is progressing.
It will show a dual-print engine design that sets a new record for duplex black-and-white cut-sheet printing systems' speed. Used for commercial and in-house printing operations, the new system will launch in the second quarter of next year in both North America and Europe.
"Digitisation, personalisation and collaboration are megatrends in the graphic communications industry and beyond," Xerox chairman and chief executive officer Anne Mulcahy said.
"We're determined to stay on the right side of those trends and we're putting our resources behind the fastest-growing and most profitable opportunities."
The new system also features the Xerox Pass Through Programming development, which means that the system can keep running even if one of the dual-print engines needs servicing.
With the dual-print system, 288 impressions per minute can be made, equivalent to 144 two-sided pages.
