Youngster collects ink cartridges
Wednesday 11 July, 2007
An 11-year-old boy from Carroll County in the US has established his own business collecting and recycling ink cartridges.
In news that may be of interest to businesses that use
Canon printer cartridges,
Epson printer cartridges or
Lexmark printer cartridges, the boy in question, TJ Stroupe, collects the products from local firms.
The WSLS news channel reports that TJ has started collecting for 73 businesses, having launched his new entrepreneurial initiative on his 11th birthday.
TJ told the TV group: "I've always wanted my own business, since I was seven years old. And it's pretty awesome to own my own business."
Following the success of his ink cartridge business venture, the youngster was recently presented with an Entrepreneurship Award from the county's board of supervisors.
Last week, Cartridge World revealed that many businesses could be regularly throwing away used ink cartridges that have yet to run out.
