HP has hailed the blurring of the lines between different types of digital technology.

According to Francois Martin, a marketing director at the company, modern innovations have brought applications and sectors that were "once divided by their technologies" together.

Indeed, he noted that many different systems are now "converging through data handling and output solutions".

"Digital technology is about bringing things together," Mr Martin commented.

HP is currently gearing up to showcase some of its latest products and innovations, including enhanced web-connected printers, at an upcoming event in Germany.

The digi:media trade fair will get underway in Dusseldorf on April 7th 2011 and run for three days.

Mr Martin stated that the event will give HP the opportunity to demonstrate to print service providers how its latest applications and output devices can help to boost their businesses.

Other exhibitors at the annual event will include Xerox and Océ Printing Systems.
