Canon printer cartridges may soon be flying off the shelves as the manufacturer has just released its best ever inkjet printer, according to one expert.

Writing on PCAdvisor.co.uk, reviewer Campbell Simpson claimed the brand's Pixma MX885 is the finest printer of its kind the firm has ever produced, recommending it for offices of different sizes.

The device's functions allow for automatic document feeding on both sides of a sheet of paper, Wi-Fi connectivity and printing directly from a USB stick, Mr Simpson explained.

He described the model's print speed and quality as "impressive" for a printer of its type and said it is more than adequate in dealing with colour photos in both A4 and six by four inch sizes.

Summing up the product's assets, he said: "Canon's top small-business inkjet printer produces good-quality text and image print-outs and is versatile enough to suit a range of business types."

Canon recently announced the introduction of a digital press developed in partnership with Oce.
