Consumers looking for flexibility from their printer could consider buying ink cartridges for the new Kodak ESP Office 2170 printer, which the company has designed for home business users.

The manufacturer has confirmed that the printer can "easily connect" to a wireless network in the home, offering greater usage flexibility.

Besides this, the printer has a number of "intelligent features" which may help people be more productive, whether using the model for business or home use, the company claims.

Photos can be printed directly from a range of devices, including the iPhone, iPad and Blackberry, while a paper sensor will automatically adjust settings depending on the size and type of paper that is loaded.

USB and memory card slots on the device mean that images can be printed without the need for a computer. The model is set to become available later in the year.

Earlier this month, Kodak was named by America's Reputation Institute as one of the top 20 most reputable companies in the country.
