There are a number of benefits associated with recycling ink cartridges.

While home users who opt to recycle their finished cartridges may already be aware that they are helping the environment, they may be able to help other people, too.

In some instances, charity events are organised encouraging people to donate a range of old items for recycling, including ink cartridges.

Indeed, the Milan News Leader reports that local residents Judy and Gordon Parker have started a scheme with their local church, the Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, to give people the opportunity to help the environment and raise money for charity.

Through a deal with charity Food for the Poor, used ink cartridges are being recycled and funds raised are being donated to help hungry children in Haiti and Guatemala, the newspaper states.

By recycling the products, users are able to reduce the amount of waste plastics and other materials.
