More people could soon be requiring ink cartridges for Canon printers after the company confirmed the release of a number of new models.

The manufacturer has added to its range of devices in the PIXMA range, which are designed to help people improve their own productivity.

A range of new features are included on the four models – the PIXMA MX886, MX426, MX416 and MX366 – such as auto document feeders and full HD movie print capabilities.

Confirming the new models, Hardware Zone reported that Canon has adopted the ISO/IEC print speed standard on the devices. The MX886 is even capable of printing up to 12.5 images per minute.

Connectivity has also been taken into consideration when creating the new devices, with Canon confirming that wireless connectivity is also available on all the models apart from the MX366.

It is also possible to print directly from devices such as the iPhone and Android devices, Hardware Zone reports.

Individuals may be impressed by the finish of their printed items, as Canon has used five separate ink cartridges on the MX886 model, while a hybrid ink cartridge system is used in the other devices.

Canon claims its separate ink cartridge system is more efficient, which may help to lower overall printing costs.
