People looking for a new camera so they can use their printers and ink cartridges to produce pictures may be interested to hear the results of a recent survey.

The Reader's Digest Most Trusted Brands Survey 2011 revealed Canon to be the most trusted camera brand in Europe.

Readers of the magazine in 16 different countries were asked to complete the survey, rating companies across a number of criteria.

In 13 of the 16 nations, Canon emerged top for quality and value, as well as for its image capabilities and understanding customer needs.

The manufacturer noted that it is the 11th year in a row that it has been named as Europe's leading camera brand and argued that the result shows Canon's "passion for the power of image".

It added that it demonstrates the firm's commitment to offering "imaging solutions that empower creativity and innovation".

As well as producing highly valued cameras, the manufacturer also produces award-winning printers. Earlier this year, the Canon Pixma MG8150 received a Red Dot design award.

Besides being recognised for its design, the model is capable of printing images at up to 9,600 dpi resolution.
