Individuals making use of printer supplies to produce beautiful pictures might want to download a new photography app for the iPhone.

Launched by Palagu Software, the PhotoPrint 1.1 application lets users wirelessly print out any number of images from their handset on an AirPrint-compatible printer.

Simone Belfi, printing expert at TouchingCode – which helped develop the program – explained: "Printing a four by six-inch postcard, with two different photos side by side, can be done in a matter of seconds with PhotoPrint."

Other features include scaling, rotating, printing multiple pages, cropping, producing several images per page, background colour and the ability to make use of all standard photo paper sizes.

According to Palagu, the app is perfect for both amateur and professional photographers, removing the need to transfer pictures to computers before printing them out.

Apple's AirPrint technology is 100 per cent wireless and works with iWork, Photos, Mail, Safari and PDFs in iBooks, as well as third-party apps that come with in-built printing.
