Photography enthusiasts searching for a new printer may need to invest in Canon ink supplies if they choose the latest Pixma model from the manufacturer.
The Pixma iP4940 comes with a number of features aimed at those who like to produce hard copies of their digital images, such as Canon's FINE print technology and its Easy-Photoprint EX software, which lets users apply effects such as blurred backgrounds.
Canon said in a statement that the device will help owners to "unleash their creative side" and filmmakers can also use Layout Print mode to produce storyboards from HD movie clips recorded using Canon cameras.
Its EOS 600D may be an ideal gadget for capturing still and moving images, as the model was recently named European Camera of the Year for 2011-12 by the European Imaging and Sound Association.
The Pixma iP4940, which is due for release in September 2011, comes with a number of environmental features to help users minimise unnecessary waste, such as auto duplexing.
