People who enjoy extreme sports may find they can capture their best moments using technology from ink supplies maker Kodak.

The company has highlighted that its Playsport line of video cameras could be ideal for those looking to hit the slopes later this year, as it is specially designed for harsh conditions such as snowboard runs.

As well as delivering full 1080p high-definition video, it can capture still images at a resolution of 5MP, which people may then like to use Kodak printer supplies to make hard copies of.

Compact enough to fit easily into a jacket pocket, the interface and buttons are simple to operate even when wearing gloves.

Announcing the launch of a new Burton-branded version of the device, vice-president of marketing for digital capture and accessories at Kodak Phil Scott said: "This little pocket-sized video camera is waterproof and shockproof so no need to worry about carving through fresh powder or hitting a rail or hard pack in a terrain park."

Capturing action-packed images may have been made easier recently for sports photographers working with Red Bull, as the company announced a deal with PocketWizard to use wireless camera controls to take pictures remotely.
